Vintage 1959-1960 Supro Dual Tone Electric Guitar w  White Finish.

Here's a recent, very cool find: a vintage late 1950's Supro Dual Tone solid body electric guitar with a non original but age appropriate chipboard case all in very good / excellent condition. This particular model features the "Gumby"(damn it!)head stock & 6 of the easiest turning Kluson tuners that have ever been designed IMHO, & the stock upgrade gold plated pickup covers. This axe has a solid wood body, not the Resoglass type from later on in its production run, so it's much easier to maintain. Loads of cool vibe! Just had a full pro set up @ DiPinto Guitars, so this sonic beast is ready to perform. Link Wray, David Bowie, The Black Keys, Jack White, White Stripes, etc used this model Supro.

This guitar features a very cool art-deco styling; the ‘Arctic White’ sculpted body was set off with a split-level black and white pickguard and brass-plated hardware. It has a pair of single-coil pickups (disguised as humbuckers), with a three-way selector switch, and dual volume and tone controls (hence the name).

The bolt-on neck does not have an adjustable truss-rod but was built around an aluminium girder; Danelectro and Hagstrom used a similar concept. With large white block markers set into the rosewood fingerboard, the neck is finished off with the "Gumby"(damn it!") head stock and Kluson deluxe tuners. The strings pass over a carved rosewood bridge into a decorative ‘stair-step’ plated tailpiece. Just set up with Ernie Ball 10's.
