Here's what might be the heaviest guitar ever to sit in our shop, a vintage, tri-sunburst USA manufactured 1979 Fender Stratocaster solid body electric guitar, weighing in at 10 lbs, 11 oz! This axe is very HEAVY due to its northern ash solid body having a beautiful, tri-tone sunburst finish and bolt-on hard rock maple neck & maple board. The 21-fret maple fingerboard is player-worn and ready to punch as heavily as its body weight.

This signature 70's Strat has the original Fender standard bridge and vibrato system. There is a 5-way pickup selector to get the most out of all three single-coil pickups (two of three are original, a previous owner replaced the middle pickup but we're unsure of the pick up builder as we didn't remove the guard ). The guitar has black knobs; two tone controls and one master volume control on the body, black switch tip, & black tipped whammy bar. All in all, a very cool look from the darker colorways of this particular instrument.

**Please disregard the excessive glare in the assorted images as the pix were taken outside on a very busy street!**

All of our instruments are in complete, working condition. This instrument was professionally inspected & given a pro set-up by one of our favorite luthiers/guitarist/composer/teacher & fantastic human being as well as the co-founder of April Mae & The Junebugs, Dave "Catfish" Fecca of Dave Fecca Guitar Repair located in Moorestown, NJ...so this axe is ready to rip immediately!

CONDITION:
Instrument is in good+ player-grade condition. There are multiple scratches on the pick guard and play-wear on some of the fingerboard. Obviously, this was used for years by a very heavy handed guitarist based on the visual & cosmetic condition of the scratch plate. A good portion of the finish is missing on the lower bass bout & edge (please see assorted pics). There are also various dings & wear marks on the sides of the guitar and on the back where the finish had peeled.  Our luthier buffed out the fingerboard & edges; the finish on the lower bass bout was also buffed & polished where the finish was peeling so it now feels & looks smooth. The original back plate is also missing but can be easily replaced. We feel that a former owner purposely removed some finish in order to relic this instrument, as it does not have the wear patterns of normal, natural play wear.  But, it sure looks COOL & sounds & plays even better.

DIMENSIONS:
Body is 39" long x 12 5/8" wide x 1 3/4" deep; neck is 18 1/4" long x 1 5/8" wide at the 1st fret, 2" wide at the 12th fret, & 2 1/8" wide at the 17th fret.
Guitar weighs in at a HEAVY 10 lbs, 11 oz.

NOTES:
This instrument is ready to play in any capacity the player wishes. The heavy natural ash body and vintage 70s' sound gives the player multiple sonic options to explore. This instrument would give a great deal of pleasure to a collector, a recreational player, or a professional musician.
