Synapse Series No. 3 Vibrant Pink
Add a splash of vibrant color to your home or work space with this unique piece of modern wall art. The third addition to my Synapse series, the inspiration behind this painting came from a microscopic image I came across while reading an article about consciousness.
The photo behind my inspiration showed beautifully colored neurons and neuronal connections in flashes of brilliant greens, blues, pinks, yellows and reds, each color corresponding to different fluorescent structures within the image. I wanted to capture that sense of synaptic connection between neurons and neural tissue.

I wanted to capture that sense of synaptic connection between neurons and neural tissue.
For the third painting in the series, I chose a vibrant pink to purple colored abstract background with dominant blacks and subtle shaded tones. Throughout the series, I played with the ideas of shape, form, shading and space. Similar to the 4th painting in this series, the lines are strong and bold with a thick application of black paint. I focused on a few centrally dominant black forms interspersed between smaller ones. Trace the lines with your eyes and discover how each connecting curve flows smoothly into the next. Step closer and observe what you see. The subtle shaded regions should become more visible to the eye as the bold forms command less of your gaze.
