Antique Chinese Export Silk Brise Fan Painting Embroidery Floral Framed Gorgeous!
We are offering an antique Chinese silk brise fan with carved openwork rods and a tassel, measuring about 18” wide when open and about 9.5” tall. The shadowbox frame measures 21.25” wide x 13.25” high and is lined in purple velvet. The cream colored silk is painted with blue flowers connected by white floral embroidery.
The frame a medium color brown wood and is Mid Century. There is banding on the fan sticks.
This piece is the perfect addition to any collection.
Very good to excellent condition with minimal age-related wear. There is a small amount of fading of the paint where the fan folds, but this is barely noticeable. On the edges of the frame, there is applied brass. Is it separate on all four corners. I believe it is made that way as it is the same on all four corners. The glass is fine the way it is. However, you can open the back and clean the inside of the glass if you so desire. Dust can settle over 70 years!
