ANTIQUE DAVID DAVIDSON NEW ENGLAND RAMBLER ROSE HAND TINTED FRAMED PHOTOGRAPH
Offered here is a very pretty, hand tinted, black and white silver print by David Davidson. Mr. Davidson (1881-1967) was a prolific New England photographer and contemporary of Wallace Nutting and Fred Thompson. He worked out of his studio (Davidson Photographic Studios) in Providence, Rhode Island. Vividly hand tinted, Rambler Rose shows a woman in what appears to be Edwardian era garb standing by the gate of a picturesque garden.
Image measures: 4 3/8" (height) x 3" (width). Frame measures: 9 3/4" (height) x 7 3/4" (width).
The picture is in very good condition with some mild warping and is on its original mat, signed in pencil on the right and titled in pencil on the left. The mat is in good condition with some faint toning and warping. There is some buckling of both print and mat due to loss of tension to the boards behind the mat (with tension restored, the buckled areas will flatten without any sign that they had buckled). Frame shows light scratching and gold finish is faded in areas. Please use pictures to further our written description.
