We are offering a working antique cast iron coin bank, made in England from the late 19th/early 20th century. It depicts a racial caricature/stereotype of a black man in a red suit. You put a coin in his hand and pull the lever on his back to have him deposit the coin into his mouth while his eyes roll back.
The back is marked "Made in England".
It measures approximately 6 1/2" tall x 5" wide x 5" deep.
This bank works but there is some wear on the bank's front and some paint chipping on the face and suit. The two halves are a little loose and could be tightened if you wanted to use this as a bank. However, it functions perfectly as-is as a display item in your collection. We gave it a light brushing to remove dust. Please look at photos as an extension of our written description.
