Antique Blue Spongeware Amish Snowflake Cup & Saucer 19thC
Offered for your consideration is an antique spongeware cup and saucer from the late 1800s. Decorated in a pattern called Amish Snowflake, deep blue colored designs on porcelain were increasingly popular during the 19th Century around Staffordshire England.
Saucer measures 5 7/8” in Diameter x 1 1/4” High
Cup measures 3 3/4” in Diameter x 2 3/4” High
Very good condition! Both pieces have a few rough glaze imperfections from kiln marks. Cup has a small rough kiln mark on the top rim and on the exterior surface toward the top in one spot. Some crazing on both pieces which is typical for the age. Unmarked
