Fingerboard measures 1 5/8" at the 1st fret, 1 7/8" at the 7th fret, 2 1/16" at the 12th fret. The neck is approx 3/4" thick & is "C" shaped.  Nut measures 1 5/8". Scale length measures 23 5/16".  Guitar weighs in at a very comfortable 4 lbs, 10 oz. The case measures 36 1/2" long X 14 1/4" wide X 3 1/4" thick and weighs 13 lbs, 11 oz.

CONDITION:
Overall, guitar is in very good, if not excellent condition. There is extremely minimal edge wear primarily on the top of the headstock. There are 2 small paint chips(1/4"), & a long scratch on the rear of the body. The white binding is fully intact & is clean. Pickguard is intact, yet there is some minimal edge chipping, but no cracks. The tuning machines & buttons are fully functional.
Pickup is strong & sounds like the single coil lipstick pickup that it is. Both controls work easily but are switched, tone being up top & volume on bottom. Original "Silvertone" painted logo had been removed by a former owner for reasons unknown. Our talented, artistic employee, Gina, was able to replicate the logo using acrylic white paint. Although not original, it’s a fairly realistic facsimile of what once was there.
The case exhibits minor paint loss on top & bottom, but mainly only on the edges. Really not too bad for a 60 year old guitar case, and we're nit picking here.
All of our instruments are in complete, working condition. This instrument was professionally inspected & given a pro set-up by one of our favorite luthiers/guitarist/composer/teacher & fantastic human being, as well as the co-founder of April Mae & The Junebugs, Dave "Catfish" Fecca of Dave Fecca Guitar Repair located in Moorestown, NJ...so this axe is ready to rip immediately!

NOTES, COMMENTS:
This instrument is ready to play in any capacity the player wishes.  This is a quirky type of beginner's instrument. These were sold mail order thru Sears' Catalog.  We believe they were also available at all Sears Roebuck retail department stores, The unique body type, the Masonite & pine, the poplar C shaped neck, the lipstick pickup & the rosewood board, all in combination, give the player multiple sonic options to explore. This instrument would give a great deal of pleasure to a collector, a recreational player, or a professional musician.

**SPECIAL NOTE: It is with a very heavy heart that we wish to share the news of the recent passing on
Dec 6, 2020, of our almost 12 year old red & white beagle, our beloved Ace. He was our mascot and namesake of this shop on Reverb.com. He gave us the initial inspiration to sign up with Reverb.com, primarily due to the name that we chose to use on this fantastic website. He was also the chief of security & official greeter for our bricks & mortar shop, always ready to engage with the customers; tail wagging, always happy & forever on the lookout for any ingestible treats that our customers wished to share with him as well as a nice butt or belly rub.
Ace is, and will continue to be, very sorely missed by all who knew him. Our shop will never be the same without his presence. But, his intense spirit and joie de vivre lives on, through our loving memories of him and also via this wonderful platform online. Love the heck out of ya, Acie!!

TO ALL PROSPECTIVE BUYERS:
If you are contemplating making us an offer on this or any of our other varied listings, please be fully prepared to follow through, pay for your item and consummate the deal if your offer is accepted by us. We have received fair offers from buyers with little or even zero feedback or inexperience on this selling platform, and they have either reneged on their commitment to purchase, or these "buyers" never paid for their purchases. Man, that's a surefire way to really piss off the boss! Obviously, we would rather this never happen again, but sometimes it will occur no matter what our wishes are. In closing, thank y'all for reading up to this point and for your patience and understanding as well. And, in the immortal lyrics from an early Steve Miller Band tune, “You gotta keep on keepin on”!
