Vintage 1949-50 Buescher True Tone Aristocrat Series II "Big B" Alto Sax – Original Case, Ebolin #7 Mouthpiece, + Accessories
Here we have a beautifully preserved Buescher “True Tone” Aristocrat Alto Saxophone Series II "Big B" Model 140; serial #328705, made in Elkhart, Indiana, circa 1949–1950. This example hails from Buescher’s highly regarded postwar “Aristocrat” line, a direct continuation of the famed Big B series.
This horn retains its hand-engraved floral bell pattern with “Buescher Aristocrat / Elkhart IND / U.S.A.” beneath the emblem. The deep engraving remains crisp and well-defined.

Body shows expected surface wear for its age—some light lacquer mottling and minor handling marks— yet, presents extremely well overall. Engraving & Logos are all very crisp. Clean pads, smooth key motion; She is a player! Neck Cork is firm and clean, good fit to mouthpiece. Comes with original brown Buescher True Tone hard case with brass logo plate, plush emerald-green lining, working latches, and intact handle. Interior includes period accessories and Buescher badge still mounted inside the lid. Recently fully maintained & serviced by the esteemed Larry Frank of Frank Woodwind & Brass Repair in Audubon, NJ.
