ITEM & some history:

Vintage late 1970's early 1980's Lab Series L9 copper panel SS combo amplifier ~ Model #312A ~ 100W of clean power; Moog/Gibson/Norlin era design with a killer 15" JBL K130 open cage speaker(rated @ 100 watts, 8 ohm minimum load SN #35161). Amp was only used in the former owner’s studio for .pedal steel guitar recording.

This Vintage Lab Series L9-Model #312A is a rare and remarkable solid-state combo amplifier, delivering 100 watts of power through a single 15" speaker. More than likely, amp may have been originally equipped with an Electro-Voice speaker, then she rolled into our shop having an amazing JBL K130 15” speaker.
There's some debate on the specifics in relation to Gibson exact contribution, but the LAB Series Amps were made during Gibson’s Norlin owned era. These Lab Series amplifiers were said to be a collaboration between Moog Music's engineering team and Gibson's distribution network, but we've also heard that it was Norlin repurposing after Gibson ceased it's own amp production.

Either way, this amp is insanely good and under appreciated. When I heard this was B.B. King's go to line of amps, I certainly expected amazing cleans and a very good reverb channel. What I didn't anticipate was such ground breaking, beautiful and aggressive distortion tone that only Moog could be a part of designing. A channel switcher could accomplish a lot of wild stuff here. Each channel input has it's own distinct quality, and the multifilter is a really cool touch. Powerful solid state combo.

*Condition*

Amplifier has been tested by our technicians and, in our opinion, is in very good, functioning condition. Each channel and input has been tested. As noted, the distortion sounds fantastic. Reverb, EQ, and filter knobs all work as they should, with no pot noise noted. Grill cloth looks quite nice, very minimal fraying and signs of wear. The tolex is still in great shape. The handle has been replaced w a brown leather(?) type. The JBL 15” speaker sounds awesome!
