2006 Fender Model FM-52E SB Acoustic/Electric “A” Style Mandolin in Sunburst Finish, Made in Korea. Serial # KK 06020198, without any case. SEE OUR RECENT VIDEO!
DESCRIPTION:
A nice example of a Fender Korean manufactured “A” Style Mandolin, probably manufactured in 2006. This mandolin features:
- a fully bound body & fingerboard.
- 21 fret rosewood fingerboard w white plastic dot inlays & black side markers on the bass bout(upper) side of the board.
- 2 “f” holes on an arched, laminated spruce top.
- 1 single coil pick up with 1 volume and 1 tone control.
- 4 on a side open gear Waverly style tuners with oval white plastic buttons.
- Replacement rosewood adjustable bridge.
- Arched mahogany back, mahogany sides, mahogany neck and headstock.
- Set neck.
- Serial # KK 06020198.
- Fancy engraved chrome tailpiece cover w floral and foliate design.
CONDITION:
There are some assorted minor flaws from play wear, a few dings here & there, worst being on the very top of the head stock(pls see pix). A few assorted indents mainly on the body top & sides, very difficult to photograph. There is a 1/16” ding on the right side of the volute. None of these issues affect the axes’ sonic capabilities, nor it’s playability.

13.75” scale length; 27” overall length X 10.625” width X 1.875” depth; 1.0625” nut width; 1.0625” width @ 1st fret, 1.25” width @ 5th fret, 1.4375” width @ 12th fret. Total weight of instrument is

This was recorded using an iPhone 14 Pro using only natural diffused light & this Fender Electro/Acoustic Mandolin was played unmic'ed & amplified running through a vintage 1964 Fender black face Deluxe Reverb combo amplifier. Guitar was demo'ed by our friend & professional musician, guitarist & teacher, the inimitable David Kelly. Dave played this axe in the front room at our bricks & mortar shop, Ellis Antiques.
