Antique Pink Lustreware Teacup & Saucer Set (5)
A charming set of five early 19th–century pink lustreware teacups with matching saucers, hand-decorated in shimmering copper-pink with stylized leaf and vine motifs. Each cup features a delicate loop handle and a small floral sprig at the interior base, while the saucers mirror the same motif, framed with luster borders. This type of pottery decoration was especially popular in England c. 1820–1840, prized for its iridescent sheen and rich detail.
Weight: approx. 8 oz each
Cup dimensions: 4" diameter x 3 5/8"W (including handle) x 2 3/8"H
Saucer dimensions: 5 1/2" diameter x 1 3/8"H
Markings: hand-painted "2" on underside of plates.
*Condition*
This set shows age and use consistent with its early 19th-century origins. Several cups exhibit staining, crazing, and hairline cracks; one cup is heavily browned from age, while others have glaze wear and losses to the luster rim (see photos). Despite these flaws, the set displays beautifully and remains a fine example of English pink lusterware for display or collection.
