Antique American Brilliant Cut Glass Trumpet Bud Vase – 10 1/8” Tall
Here we have a fine example of American Brilliant Period cut glass, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century (circa 1880–1915). This elegant trumpet-form bud vase is hand-cut from heavy lead crystal, weighing 2 lbs 4 oz despite its modest size.
The vase features a flared and scalloped rim, deeply cut hobstar and fan motifs, crosshatch panels, and zipper cuts running down the tapering stem. The broad circular base is finished with a bold 16-point starburst cut, adding stability and sparkle. The clarity of the crystal and the precision of the cutting create excellent prismatic light refraction, characteristic of the finest ABP glass.
