Antique Cast Iron Metal Figural Piggy Bank Bright Color Toucan Parrot Bird 5"
Antique cast iron metal figural piggy still bank designed in the shape of a perched parrot bird, c1930s, United States. Colorful paint scheme shows yellow, orange, blue, green, and red. Figure is relatively detailed with clearly defined feet, eyes, beak, and a unique red/yellow fan on the head. Round base appears to be a section of green grass. Slip is presented in the middle of the rear wings. Underside has a section for a key (not included). Unmarked example has a section of text on the belly vaguely showing "Valley Forge".
Measures approximately 5" High x 3 1/2" Wide x 3" Deep.
Good to very good. Sections of the animal show paint loss, roughly 80% covered. No Key. issues with the metal material; no dents, nicks, breaks or rust. The cap on the bottom was broken and doesn't stay in the housing when the piece is lifted. When resting, the bottom will stay in place.
