Antique Chinese Famille Rose Rose Medallion Teapot Rope Handle

Antique Chinese Famille Rose / Rose Medallion porcelain teapot featuring richly detailed hand-painted decoration throughout. The body is densely ornamented with traditional garden scenes, court figures, birds, florals, butterflies, and scrolling foliate motifs in vibrant pinks, greens, blues, and iron-red accents with gilt highlights. Attributed to 19th century.

The cylindrical form is fitted with a traditional swing handle wrapped in braided rope, attached through porcelain lugs with metal fittings. The spout is elegantly curved with gold trim at the rim. The lid is inset and decorated with floral motifs.

The exterior showcases alternating figural panels and medallions with birds and fruit, framed by heavy scrolling enamel work typical of Rose Medallion wares. Interior of the lid and mouth are glazed; underside shows an unmarked base.

Condition:
No major chips, cracks, or structural repairs observed. Minor expected wear to gilt trim and enamel consistent with age. Cord wrapping shows light age wear. One the hooks is a little shorter and doesn't like to stay in it's hole, so please check and handle with care before lifting.
