Offered here is a lovely antique lacquerware box, featuring ornate silver & gold leaf foil ornamentation.
The scene on the top of the box shows two figures floating on a boat down the river, with leafy bamboo in the foreground, houses and trees in the background - nice intricate detail.
Has capacity to be locked, though we have no key. This is a really lovely old piece, with a unique shape, could have been used to lock valuables or jewelry. T
he red boulle is apparent in certain places where the lacquer is worn, as there is some weathering and wear to the face of the box. A very artfully crafted antique Asian collectible.
Unmarked
