Antique Leather Postcard Huge Lot of 63 1904-1907 Ephemera Novelty Holiday Humor
We are offering an antique lot of 63 leather postcards, dated between 1904 and 1907. These cards, some posted and some unposted, cover a range of occasions, from general greetings to holiday well-wishes to humor. Leather postcards are very rare, having been invented in 1903 and banned only five years later in 1907 due to their incompatibility with the post office’s machines. That makes each card that survives a unique piece of history. This lot is the perfect addition to any collection.
The cards measure approximately 5 1/4" × 3 1/4", with some variations and possibly orientations.
Binder/Album size: Approx. 14" × 2 3/8" × 9"H
Very good condition for age and material. Some cards have more fading then others, most still feel flexible and not stiff, but we did not handle each card in order to keep them preserved. Some of the cards are postmarked, some are not. Please inspect the pictures carefully, as they are an extension of our written description.
