We are offering an antique Victorian Renaissance Revival dark mahogany wood, brass/ bronze ormolu done in the Louis XV French style fireplace screen, measuring about 38.25” tall, 27.5” wide, and 17” deep, with the central panel measuring about 23.5” x 23.5”.
The top center has a brass/bronze casting of a little child's face. Corners have floral burst. Bead designs outline the screen, finials, legs , please see pictures. Wood is cut out , reticulated on the top.
This central screen is on a swivel between a square of mauve/ burgundy velvet and a needlepoint scene. Beautiful pastoral scene , with a young woman walking through a garden with a ram lying beside her. The face of the lady, and the ram are done in pettit point, very small needlepoint. Certain areas have without the wool needlepoint. This design was done intentionally .
This piece is the perfect addition to any collection.
Very good to excellent condition with minimal age-related wear. Two ormolu embellishments on the right side pole are slightly loose and can rotate but this is barely noticeable. One of the legs is separating a bit. It is fine as it stands.
