We are offering an antique original ukiyo-e woodblock print by Utagawa Hiroshige,actual site measuring about 13.5” x 9” without the frame and about 18.5” high x 13.75” wide with the frame.
This piece, titled Odawara (Fisherman’s House on a Beach) was the tenth in his 53 Stations of the Tokaido series, and depicts men on a beach hauling up something out of frame with ropes, with boats sailing in the background and thatched houses in the foreground. Others of this print are displayed in museums across the world, making this piece the perfect addition to any collection.
Very good to excellent condition with minimal aging. There is some minor rippling to the paper at the top of the print. There are a few imperfections in the colors that are a natural result of the printmaking process.
