Antique Late 19th C. School Class Photo – Framed – Brick Urban Setting

Here we have an original, unique, antique group portrait of a school class, likely taken circa 1890–1905 in a brick courtyard of a public or parochial school. The photograph features a mix of boys and girls seated and standing in formal attire, with a single child peaking through the window in the background. The children wear era-typical dresses and attire. The photo is mounted under glass in its a beatiful wood (oak?) frame with reoccuring banded motif. The back is secured with early nails and retains its original hanging wire.
A rare, well-preserved example of late Victorian educational photography.
Due to it's beautiful clarity and contrast, we believe this photo was brinted using gelatin-silver method.

Frame Size: 11 3/4"L x 3/4"W x 9 3/4"H

Condition:
Photo is well preserved with strong clarity and tonal contrast. No visible foxing, tears, or significant fading. Frame is structurally sound with rich patina and expected surface wear consistent with age, including minor scuffs, light corner edge wear, and some small finish loss. Backing shows age-related wear, and original nails and hanging wire are intact but rusted. Light warping to the backing board does not affect display. Glass appears original with some light dust and faint surface haze beneath.
