Antique Sevres Porcelain Vase Trellis Lattice Roses French Trompe-l'Òil optical Illusion 16" As Is
Offered for your consideration is this gorgeous Sevres, France floor vase from the 1870-
1890's. Make into a lamp, have it restored,or turn the break around to a wall. It is so gorgeous! The painting is divine!
This beautiful Sevres porcelain vase features deep aqua blue ribbons forming a diamond lattice pattern. Below the ribbons are another set soft aqua ribbons tipped in soft pink, in a criss cross pattern . There are different size deep pink roses, leaves and stems scattered around the vase. A master piece in hand painting and technique!
The totally covered vase has some what of a Trompe-l'Òil optical illusion effect!
There are pearls on every corner where the ribbons meet. As you look at the vase from bottom to top, the ribbon gets wider and the pearls get larger in the bulbous part of the vase.
Then as the the vase gets smaller in the neck, the painting corresponds in size and detail. The art work on the vase ebbs and flows. This was painted by a master painter!
The vase was converted into an electric table lamp at some later time. There is a hole drilled on the bottom. We took it apart to check the repairs that had been made. We found cracks at the top that had been glued. This incredible vase deserves to be restored! It came from an estate with many other antique Sevres pieces.
It is not signed on the base. A mark may have been in the middle where is was drilled. An almost perfect drill job, by the way. It probably had a typical Victorian age paper label that was removed.
The exact color match is the aqua blue in the 1st picture. In some of the pics the blue looks a bit darker.
Use as a lamp or a vase!
It measures approx. 16" high and 7" wide. You will not be disappointed. Makes a statement . So unusual! Any comments about this is appreciated!
