Antique Sterling Silver 14k Gold Inlay Compact Dance Card Holder Purse w/ Chain
We are offering an antique sterling and 14k gold dance compact purse, measuring about 3.75” x 2.5”. This piece is a lovely early deco design, sterling silver inlaid with 14k gold. Inside the inner circle is inscribed “Betsy Johnson 1917”. The inside has a clip for money or dance cards, mirror and space for a compact behind it, and dispensers for dimes and quarters. On the inside rim is marked with the Watrous maker’s mark and “Sterling 14K Inlaid 7411 Pat Apd For”. This piece is the perfect addition to any collection.
Very good condition with minimal age-related wear. There are two small dents in the back of the case, and the dispenser for the quarters is missing. The hinges and closure are in perfect condition and the original sterling chain is included.
