Antique Sterling Silver Vinaigrette Scent Box Heart Grille American -No Initials

We are offering an antique sterling silver vinaigrette, scent box measuring about 1.5” W x 1” L x 0.5” Deep . There are no marks- it is probably American, pre-1860.

Vinaigrettes were made approx. late 1700's to 1840.


This piece has a lovely diamond pattern engraved in the top, with a blank circle where a monogram can be placed. Along the sides and bottom is an understated leaf design that gives the piece a rustic charm. There is a gold wash on the inside, and the grille is designed like a heart with a key with a leaf scroll. The original sponge is still present.

This piece is the perfect addition to any collection.
