Antique Wedgwood Dark Blue Jasperware Silver Plate Muffineer Caster Shaker Rare
We are offering an antique Wedgwood porcelain muffineer, measuring about 6” tall and 2.5” in diameter. This piece, reminiscent of Wedgwood’s famous spill vases, is overlaid in plate silver, creating panels from which cameos of jasperware figures on dark blue peek out. The four reliefs may represent Apollo and the muses. The inside is glazed while the outside is not. This piece is the perfect addition to any collection!
The bottom of the piece is marked “Wedgwood” and “England”, and the silver plate has multiple marks, including the maker’s mark of Henry Wilkinson & Co Ltd, which we believe dates this piece to 1892.
Very good to excellent condition with no cracks. There is one chip to the rim, which is completely invisible when the lid of the shaker is closed. Please inspect the provided photos carefully, as they are an extension of our written description.
