Beautiful Old Pawn Sterling Benson Yazzie Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Concho Belt Black Streak People Clan
This is a great vintage Sterling Silver Concho Belt Handmade by Navajo artist Benson Yazzie (1947-2001), Signed by the artist
"Sterling, BY".
There are 9 conchos, each 2.5" long and 2.25" wide and 10 butterfly separators, each 2" high and 1" wide. Conchos
are removable.
Turquoise is set in a fine sterling silver saw tooth bezel in the center of each Concho.
The Cabochons measure about 1/2" x 3/8" each and are a lovely sleeping beauty blue with mostly fleck matrix on them. Some of the turquoise gemstones are of a natural nugget shape and some are domed and polished.
Belt is 45" (114.3 cm) long overall and 1" wide (2.54 cm), buckle is 3" long by almost 2.5" wide. Weighs 306.3 grams with the belt.
Will fit a waist up to approx. 43" long and because of the slides between each Concho, you can adjust to your
waist size down with nice dangle effect or maybe drop onto your hips.
Larger size conchos and buckle than what I have found for sale. Excellent condition showing almost no use, if any! Leather in good condition. .
Yazzie born into the Black Streak People Clan for the Mountain Recess People Clan, he attended Chemawa Indian school in Chemawa, Oregon; employed by the railroad in different states.
