Raphael Soyer – “Girl at Doorway” (Signed Original Drypoint Etching)
This is an original drypoint etching titled “Girl at Doorway” by noted American realist artist Raphael Soyer (1899–1987). The work is pencil-signed along the lower margin and presented in a vintage carved-and-gilded wooden frame with a deep plum mat. The drypoint impression shows characteristic Soyer linework: intimate, moody portraiture with expressive cross-hatching and soft tonal modeling.
The piece includes an old backing label from Associated American Artists (AAA), the gallery that published and widely distributed Soyer’s original prints during the mid-20th century. AAA labels are desirable provenance indicators and help confirm authenticity and period.
