ITEM:

Today we’re offering a Vintage 1969-1971 MIJ Yamaha FG-180 Red Label Jumbo Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar from Nippon Gakki. Serial number: 1176030(stamped on end of neck block inside of sound hole.
For my taste, it's easily one of the best acoustic guitars I've ever heard. There's some real magic that aurally comes through the mids and highs, in particular. From the minute I took my first strum, I had a feeling I've heard this guitar on hundreds of great songs without even knowing it. All this, mind you, before I realized this model was the go-to live guitar for Elliot Smith.

*Condition*

While this guitar still has plenty of magic left in it, that magic wasn't earned without traveling a long, tiresome road. As you can see in the pictures, this guitar has seen more then its fair share of use and abuse. Plenty of scratches and character marks all around the body. Most notably, the stripped patch right by the pick guard. Fretboard seems to still be in good shape. According to our luthier, this guitar will eventually need a neck reset. So, you may the be the last person to appreciate this iconic guitar in her original form. Does not come with case, but we’ll most likely find an acceptable chipboard case.
