Vintage Italian Majolica Figural C Mollica Signed Rococo Lady Deco Huge Figurine
Massive piece!
We are offering a vintage figurine, measuring about 11.5” tall, 14” wide, and 11.5” deep. This piece is Italian majolica, by the artist Carlo Mollica, who was famous for his Art Deco interpretations of the Capodimonte style.
It depicts a young Rococo lady seated at a table and reading a book, her skirt fanning out around her. Her hair is done up in ringlets and rolls indicative of the 18th century, and her makeup is reminiscent of the starlets of the 1930s and 1940s. This piece is the perfect addition to any collection.
Beautiful colors of pink, gray, black , beige, gold, and blush in a glossy finish
Very good condition with no crazing. There is one small chip in the glaze at the very tip of the lady’s shoe. One crack has been repaired where the edge of the skirt meets the tile, which is very common when firing pieces of this size and detail in a kiln.
