Vintage Painted Wood Stool PA Dutch Amish Hex Charm Primitive Folk Art Americana
We are offering a vintage stool, measuring about 6.75” tall, 14” wide, and 7.5” deep. The entire piece is constructed of solid wood and painted a bright orange. On the center of the stool is painted a traditional Pennsylvania Dutch hex: two birds and a lucky star with a “Wilkum” (Welcome) written along the border. These hex signs are a traditional part of Pennsylvania Dutch culture to beckon luck and friendship. This piece is kitschy and rustic and will bring a touch of color to any decor. This piece is the perfect addition to any collection.
Very good condition with expected age-related wear to the paint. The joints of the construction are all flush and solid. At some point, someone has added a label underneath the hex. This should be removable, but we will leave that to the buyer to not risk pulling up the paint.
