Antique Wedgwood Style Jasperware Lamp — Blue Classical Relief with Glass Plinth, Brass Mounts (32 3/4”H, 9lb 7oz)
Here we have a rare early- to mid-20th-century table lamp inspired by Wedgwood’s classic neoclassical Jasperware design. The lamp features the classic Wedgewood Jasperware blue porcelain urn with applied white relief figures in Greco-Roman style, set into a richly patinated brass mount.
The base consists of a heavy crystal plinth with diamond patterning, framed by ornate cast brass with acanthus-leaf detail and a verdigris finish, resting on a square weighted platform, with dual a pull-chain for each socket, and adjustable finial post; all of which appear to be original vintage brass components handsome and substantial piece. Weighing about 9 lbs 7 oz and standing approximately 32 3/4” tall to the finial, with a base diameter of 5 5/8”.
Condition: Presents well with age-appropriate patina to the metalwork and light surface wear to the porcelain and base consistent with use. Wiring is functional and works as is. Due to the age of the wiring, it is always recommneded that you update the wiring and not leave it running unattended.
