Vtg HaSu Singing Bird Cage Automaton ~Made in West Germany , Partially Functions
Today we have a very charming, vintage German-made automaton features two colorful birds perched within a decorative gilt metal cage. Produced by HaSu, this piece displays impressive craftsmanship. Velvet-lined base, embossed floral detailing, and lifelike feathered birds in vibrant red, yellow, and black.
The base is marked “HaSu – Made in Germany” and includes a switch underneath labeled “Continuous / Intermission / Stop”

Cosmetically, the cage and base are in good vintage condition with mild tarnish to the bars and some fading to the faux foliage. While the piece retains its visual appeal and most mechanical components appear intact, the unit is patially functioning. Bellows to be reglued, wire to yellow bird may need positioning. Mechanism runs for only 2–3 seconds at a time and only the red bird seems to move. No bird-song is played. Sold as-is due to partial function. Restoration will be required for full operation.
