World War I Planes & Ships Lot (11) Souvenir Card Photographs Ca 1914-1918 WW I
For sale are a lot of eleven (11) souvenir card photographs circa 1914-1918. Photos are mainly of American and French planes and ships, including photos of the U.S.S. Rambler and U.S.S. Lianga in France. Also featured is a photo of a French "Sausage" (hot air balloon) and a photo of a crashed German plane.
These seem to be gelatin silver prints and measure 2 1/4" x 3 1/8" inches. They were most likely sold as a set in France during/after the war. Photos include a white rectangle with a caption describing the scene in black text.
These came from a family in the Philadelphia/Southern New Jersey area from the belongings of a soldier that served as an engineer in the United States Army during World War I.
Condition: These cards all have a slight bend to them from the way they were stored for the last century. Otherwise, they are in great condition. Please see photos as an extension of our description.
