WWII U.S. Army Combat Infantryman Badge Sterling Silver Pair CIB Rifle Wreath
Description
Pair of original World War II U.S. Army Combat Infantryman Badges (CIB). These badges feature the classic design of a flintlock rifle over a blue enamel field surrounded by an oak leaf wreath, representing service in the infantry under combat conditions.
Both examples are marked “STERLING” on the reverse, indicating wartime manufacture in sterling silver rather than later base-metal versions. Each badge retains its original pinback fasteners.
The Combat Infantryman Badge was first established in 1943 to recognize infantry soldiers who actively engaged in ground combat during WWII. Sterling examples such as these were commonly produced by several U.S. manufacturers during the war years.
These badges show honest age and wear, including surface patina, enamel wear, and light oxidation consistent with vintage military insignia. No major structural damage observed.
A solid pair suitable for militaria collectors, WWII displays, or uniform restoration.
