ITEM:
Wow!! What an unusual piece for the collector who thinks they have everything!
This started out its life as a Victor Animatograph Corporation 16 mm motion picture/film projector speaker cabinet all in one unit. We had some of the guts removed including about 50 feet worth of spooled cable and converted it to a simple guitar speaker cabinet utilizing the original 12” woofer. It sounds very full, very evenly balanced & it definitely exudes loads of mojo. If you’re an RCA Victor buff or simply appreciate different speaker cabs, this might be just the item to add to your collection of functional strange.

Now offered at a newly reduced price!

DESCRIPTION:
She’s covered in black textured original fabric(possibly an early iteration of Tolex)over a wood core which we’re fairly certain is tongue & groove joined. Gold toned stamped metal badge on top is marked “World’s Finest MOVIE Equipment~Victor~ REG U.S. PAT. OFF. 16MM~VICTOR~ANIMATOGRAPH CORPORATION DAVENPORT, IOWA U.S.A.”
Beautiful round metal “Victor” in a pseudo Art Deco style covers the exposed 12” original speaker. We believe the speaker to be made by either Cinaudagraph or Consolidated. What we believe to be is a field coil transformer is connected via a mounting bracket onto the speaker.
There is a matching removable fitted cover that serves to protect the speaker when cab is being transported, and an original padded fabric cover for additional protection. A single 1/4” input jack was
installed directly to the speaker assembly.

CONDITION:
This being 70 years old, there are the usual defects, primarily on the Tolex covering. There are some minor, very small tears, marks, and edge lifting in assorted spots on the cabinet. Original leather wrapped wooden handle shows excessive wear, but is still functional. Tolex is coming loose on both sides of the cab at the very bottom junction. There is also slight fraying on the same lower edges. Only markings that we could find were on the speaker: the numeric sequence “7266” stamped on the fence of the speaker enclosure, and also”1551” stamped onto the rear of one of the quadrants on the cone. All of the original structural components including all corner brackets, exposed screws, hardware, handle, speaker, transformer, speaker cover, etc., are included. You might notice a faint, musty odor, only on the fabric padded cover, probably due to this laying in a basement or garage for many years. Cover will be treated prior to shipping.

SPECIFICATIONS:
Dimensions are 18.5” wide x 17” high X 10.25” deep. Cabinet enclosure alone weighs 21 lbs, 13 oz. Cabinet including matching speaker cover and padded fabric cover weigh 24 lbs, 13 oz.
