Lot of four original Marvel Special Edition Featuring Star Wars #1 Collector’s Edition oversized comics, published by Marvel Comics in 1977.
Interior artwork by Howard Chaykin and Steve Leialoha. The dramatic front and back cover artwork is credited to Rick Hoberg and Dave Cockrum. The oversized treasury format measures approximately 10" x 14"
Lot includes four copies of Marvel Special Edition Featuring Star Wars #1.
The issue includes the chapters “Star Wars,” “Six Against the Galaxy,” and “Death Star!”, covering the early portion of the film.
Condition:
Very fine pre-owned vintage condition with slight condition varying somewhat between the four copies. Comics were acquired from a former Marvel employee, so these copies never saw a newstand. Covers generally remain bright and colorful with some lightexpected edge and corner wear, light surface rubbing, handling wear and small creases consistent with age and the difficult-to-store oversized treasury format. One copy has a noticeable small tear/chip and creasing at the lower right corner of the front cover, as shown in the close-up photo. Other copies exhibit comparatively lighter corner and edge wear.
All four have been photographed individually with representative interior pages; please examine the photos closely for the exact condition of each copy.
