Antique 19th C Chinese Fang Hu Porcelain Vase Lamp Lotus Crane Turquoise
Antique Chinese porcelain vase mounted as a two-light table lamp. The vase is of traditional Fang Hu form, with a flattened pear-shaped body, tall neck, and rectangular handles. Attributed to be late 19th-century China, likely converted to a lamp in the early 20th century.
The porcelain features a striking turquoise/aqua ground with hand-painted polychrome enamel decoration depicting a crane standing among lotus blossom/pink floral and scrolling borders
The vase is mounted on vcarved hardwood stand and has been converted into a table lamp with a brass-toned central stem, dual sockets, and individual pull chains. An old paper label underneath reads “No. … CHINA.”. I have not seen a label like this before. The lamp retains an older cloth-covered electrical cord and plug. Both light sockets illuminate as shown in the photos.

Condition:
Good antique condition overall with age-related wear.
-The porcelain exhibits scattered surface wear, rubbing and losses to portions of the painted/enamel decoration, minor scratches and marks, and areas of glaze crazing, particularly along the pink border sections. Some more noticeable rubbing/loss is present along the sides of the turquoise body.
-The carved wood base shows scratches, finish wear, age splits and some parts *could be* small losses to the pierced carving. The base also has a tilt to it in the front. It will stand upright, but will tilt when pushed. Prospective buyers may wish to put something under it or apply some sort of stopper to rebalance it.
-Brass lamp hardware has some oxidation, tarnish and surface wear.
-The older cloth-covered electrical cord shows considerable age and fraying/dusting. Lamp is currently working and both sockets light, but due to the age of the wiring, professional inspection/rewiring is recommended before regular use. Please review all photos closely for condition and details.
