Antique Art Deco Bookends Classical Greek Statue Men Discus Bronzed Cast Iron
We are offering an antique pair of figural bookends, each measuring about 7.5” tall, 4.5” long, and 2” wide. This pair is cast iron with a bronze finish and depicts a nude male figure in a marriage of Art Deco and GrecoRoman fashion, winding up to throw a discus. They both perfectly mirror the other and are heavy enough to hold up a stack of books, though they work just as well as a decorative piece! This pair is the perfect addition to any collection.
Very good condition with minimal age-related wear. There is felt on the bottom which has worn down over time but still serves its function. Along the bottom edge of the bases is a line of rust, as expected of a piece of this age. Please inspect the pictures carefully, as they are an extension of our written description.
