Antique Art Nouveau Meiji Sterling Silver Vase Pair Japanese Jungin Fluted

We are offering an antique Art Nouveau pair of sterling silver vases, each measuring about 7.5” tall and 2.75” in diameter at the base. This pair is from Meiji era, late 1800's,  Japan and in the distinct art nouveau style, opening up into a flower at the rim.

Although the sterling vases are from the Art Nouveau era, their simple lines work well with Midcentury, Jame Mont, Hollywood Regency  design. This pair is the perfect addition to any collection.

The bottom of each is marked “Sterling” and marked in Japanese. Jungin, the Japanese mark, translates to “pure silver” and was an equivalent to marking a piece as sterling.

Very good condition with minimal aging. One of the two vases had been repaired at some point, and there is some soldering around where the stem meets the base. This is barely noticeable. This type of Japanese Meiji sterling vases are usually made with a weighted base and an opening  "circle" where the base is exposed.
