Rare beautiful lustrous silk velvet almost square shaped tapestry! Made during the 1910-1920's. Woven tapestry. Rare that it has survived!
Features a Native American Indian Chief , wearing his headress, sitting in his canoe and holding his paddle. Surrounded by mooses. Strong Art nouveau influences have carried over.
Measures approx. 22.5" W x 23" H. Perhaps made for a pillow cover that was never used, a wall hanging or a table linen. Table linen makes sense with the discoloration.
Incredible it is still in such great condition! No shedding of the velvet. Small hole on his head dress, some reddish discoloration. Please see pictures.
