Antique Décor à Sèvres Vanity Set | Cobalt Blue & Gold Porcelain Perfume Bottles, Powder Jar, and Tray | Empire Revival Style | One Bottle Cracked
Here we have a beautifully detailed Antique French-style porcelain vanity set, marked “Décor à Sèvres” with a crowned “N” and “Z” decorator mark in gold. This elegant three-piece ensemble features deep cobalt blue and white striping with lavish gilt embellishment throughout.
Set includes:
• Two perfume bottles, each with figural stoppers shaped like small walrus-like heads with gilt tusks.
• One covered powder jar, fluted and gilt to match.
• One scalloped tray, ruffled at the edges and hand-finished in alternating cobalt and white panels
Approx. Measurements & Weight:
• Total set weight: 1 lb 6 oz
• Powder jar: 3 1/2” L × 3” W × 1 7/8” H (with lid)
• Tray: 9 1/8” L × 5” W × 3/4” H
• Perfume bottles: 2 1/4” L × 5 1/8” H (with stoppers)
Condition:
One perfume bottle shows a circling structural crack extending through the midsection (visible around the cobalt and gilt banding). The crack remains stable but noticeable. There is minor gilt wear from age and handling, particularly on edges and raised details. No chips or losses noted to the tray or jar. Both stoppers fit securely and retain their gold highlights. Overall, the set remains striking and display-worthy, even with the damage considered.
