Antique Foot Warmer with Punched Tin Heart Design - Carriage - Late 19th Century
Antique foot warmer featuring a wood frame, punched tin panels, and heart-shaped decorative punchwork. Historically used by women during the cold months to keep their feet warm. Handles for easy movement around the house, to bring with them to church, and even as an option for use in a wagon/stagecoach Includes the removable interior metal tray/pan, which would have held hot coals or another heat source. Also comes with candle holders which way have been used for coach travel when out of town and ember restock may not have been a viable option.
The piece has a great early primitive look with a mix of wood, tin/metal, and an aged wire carrying handle. Decorative punched holes appear throughout the front, back, sides, and bottom, allowing heat to circulate and to keep embers burning. The front hinged door opens, closes, and locks when the handle is turned. And the inner tray slides out for easy cleaning access.

Antique condition with heavy age-related wear throughout. Wood shows surface wear, finish loss, scratches, small cracks, dryness, and general age patina. Metal shows oxidation, rust, discoloration, soot/darkening, dents, bends. Interior tray has rust, oxidation, and residue from use. Door, handle, and tray are present.
