Antique German Putz Sheep / Lamb Miniature – Flocked Wool, c. Early 20th Century

Charming antique miniature sheep (or lamb) figure, consistent with German Erzgebirge / putz Christmas village production from the early 1900s. The figure features a hand-formed composition body with original wool flocking, painted facial details, and carved wooden legs with black hooves. A bright red paper collar remains intact, marked "Germany"

The naive folk-art character, compact scale, and construction align well with pre-WWII German putz figures made for Christmas displays, toy villages, and mantle scenes. These were typically handmade in small workshops and intended to complement wooden houses, churches, and farm scenes.
