Antique Hand-Painted Porcelain Limoges Floral Table Lamp – Signed "S.M. Rose Cecilia" – c. 1900s
Beautiful antique hand-painted porcelain table lamp featuring a large floral bouquet of white, pink, and yellow roses set against a soft blue background. The porcelain is signed "S.M. Rose Cecilia", a decorator's signature that has been found on other antique porcelain, although the artist or decorating studio has not yet been definitively identified. The quality of the painting, particularly the detailed roses and subtle shading, suggests the work of a skilled professional china decorator. The porcelain appears to have been decorated on a high-quality imported blank, likely of French or Bavarian origin, before being converted into a table lamp during the early 20th century. It is fitted with a vintage brass double-cluster light assembly featuring Leviton pull-chain sockets and rests on a carved wooden display ring above a molded white porcelain footed base.
The underside retains an original repair label from H.A. Eberhardt & Son, Art & China Repairing, 213 S. 11th Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, indicating the porcelain was professionally restored at some point in its history. The repair label provides an interesting piece of provenance from one of Philadelphia's well-known porcelain restoration firms.
Both light sockets have been tested and are in working order.
