Antique Pair Continental Majolica Porcelain Oyster Plates Geometric Gilt Blue Shell 8"
Today we have an amazing pair of decorative Continental porcelain oyster plates featuring matching geometric/octagonal forms with raised oyster shell wells and a raised scallop shell accent for serving/placing sauces and lemon slices. Each plate has five raised oyster wells with hand-painted shell detail in blue, soft lavender, and gold. The trim and the rims are finished with wide gilt accents.
The plates have a glossy white porcelain body and a dimensional molded surface, giving them a strong display look. Nice matched pair for wall display, cabinet display, seafood service, or oyster plate collection.
One underside appears to have a small impressed or molded mark, "4". Exact maker/origin not confirmed.

*Condition*
Good decorative antique/vintage condition overall, with noted wear and damage. Both plates show age-appropriate gilt wear, rubbing, surface marks, and small paint losses throughout, especially along raised edges and rim areas.
One plate has a noticeable rim/corner that broke/chipped off. The other has a small break at the corner of the plate (may have been a repair). There may be small nicks, glaze wear, and manufacturing irregularities. Besides what we metnioned, there are no other major full-body cracks noticed from visual inspection, but please review photos closely for exact condition.
