Antique Stereoview Card Lot – 19th Century to Early 20th Century – Monuments, Architecture, & Historical Views

Here we have a diverse and historically rich lot of 18 antique stereoview cards, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. These stereoscopic cards were designed to be viewed through a stereoscope to produce a 3D image, a popular form of entertainment and education during the Victorian era. Mounted on cards that come in bright orange, yellow, gray, and purple.

Subjects Include:

  • International Landmarks: Cathedral of Chihuahua, Mexico (by W.H. Jackson), Temple ruins of Baalbek, Rome’s Teatro di San Carlo, and more.

  • U.S. Government Interiors: Senate and House chambers, Washington D.C.

  • Famous Monuments: Washington Monument, Bunker Hill Monument, U.S. Capitol grounds, and Greenwood Cemetery scenes.

  • Urban & Parade Scenes: Several cards from the "Metropolitan Series" feature early 1900s Washington D.C. parade views including Native Philippine Scouts and Gen. Fitzhugh Lee’s Inaugural Procession.

  • Publishers/Photographers: Includes W.H. Jackson & Co., Kilburn Brothers, Underwood & Underwood, and others with embossed, printed, or labeled backs. Some have detailed captions or pink and yellow backs with printed narratives. Some with printed, hand-wrtitten marks & descriptions, and original publisher stamps

  • Each measures approx. 7" x 3.5"

Condition: Varies across the lot. Most cards are in good antique condition with typical wear, some fading or edge scuffing, and mild warping. No major tears or losses. Please review the photos carefully to assess specific condition details. Look out for our other Stereoview and Stereograph lots! We do combined shipping.
