Antique Victorian Lion Shade Oil Parlor Piano Floor Lamp Ruby Red Satin Art Glass Adjustable Height 5' +

RARE Original oil lamp, never electrified!

We are offering a very rare antique Victorian oil parlor floor lamp with a 1950's art glass LION globe shade in ruby red satin glass. The lamp is
The Consolidated Lamp and Glass Company  and dated on the brass pole June 9, 1891. Original condition, the oil lamp has never been electrified.

The knob on the oil lamp is also dated as May 27, 1895. Comes with it's a glass chimney.

The glass globe is decorated with a blown out  lion’s head motif, and the lamp is quintessentially Victorian with wrought iron filigree base. Unextended and with the glass, the lamp stands at about 5’2”. The lamp will extend quite a bit more, however, it sits at a good floor lamp height as it stands now.

This piece is the perfect addition to any collection. Wonderful for a Victorian home, or an inspired Victorian home!

Shade measures 10" high x 10" wide (may be a bit larger, hard to measure) It is very impressive and massive!

The wrought iron base measures approx. 21" at the bottom. The oil lamp section is approx. 10" diameter. The glass chimney is approx. 14" high x  4" wide at the middle.

"The Consolidated Lamp and Glass Company was formed in Fostoria, Ohio in 1893 from the merger of the Fostoria Shade and Lamp Company with Wallace and McAffee Company. They moved to Coraopolis when their glassworks burned down only two years later. In the 1890's they produced some art glass vases and bowls, but for many years their main production was high quality lamps, globes and shade"

Very Good condition with no cosmetic damage. The glass chimney is in very good shape.  The lion shade has normal age related roughness on the openings. A minor split on the brass exterior part that holds the oil container. Not an issue but wanted to mention it. When extending the brass pole, you have to play with it, twist it to stay in place. Also, the oil container leans a bit which can make the chimney and shade also lean a bit. I think it the way the brass container sits in the iron holder. Needs to be adjusted. You have to play with it or put something under one of the wrought iron legs.  The wrought iron has old- dust -patina. All due to the age of the lamp !

Remember-it is very rare to find !
