Victorian Primitive Wood 5 Drawer Apothecary Spice Cabinet Box Antique
Antique Victorian-era wooden five-drawer cabinet, likely used as a small apothecary, spice, hardware, sewing, or general shop/storage cabinet. Handmade, the drawer sizes are uneven. One of the handles is a hook as opposed to a knob, but appears to be original. Unsure if the maker was working with what they had, or if there was a functional purpose for the difference.
Measures approx. 5 1/2” W x 3 3/8” D x 9 5/8” H
*Condition*
Fair to good antique condition. Distressed, and heavily used. There is surface wear throughout, including finish loss, scratches, scuffs, dust/paint speckling, dark spotting, age stains, small chips, edge wear, nail holes, separation lines, and general oxidation/grime to the hardware. Drawer interiors show staining and age-related discoloration. Back and underside show heavier wear and old surface residue. One drawer bottom/interior area shows a circular wood patch or plug. Some drawers sit unevenly, consistent with age and handmade construction. Presents well as a primitive Victorian display piece, but should be considered as-found/ unrestored.
