This Art Deco Machine Age thick snake mesh and Bakelite necklace is to a highly collectible design by French jeweler Louis Rousselet. His best pieces combined carved Bakelite or Galalith beads with a flexible metal "snake" chain or mesh. Nice thick 7.2mm chain. A pair of silver metal leaves flank the bakelite.
The bakelite is a maroon color that was tested for Bakelite. It came out a little more red on the black stand. Wonderful design!
