Rare Vintage Royal Doulton figurine "The Carpet Seller" Orientalism HN 1464 S.
For sale is a vintage retired Royal Doulton figurine that was produced from the 1930s through the 1960s, "The Carpet Seller" (HN 1464). This figurine features a man in a blue thawb and red fez with beautifully handpainted carpets slung over his shoulders to show you the designs of what he is selling. There are different versions of this being sold on the internet but the coloring on this one is fantastic and comes from an era when Orientalism was en vogue.
The figure stands approximately 9" tall. The bottom is stamped "H.N. 1464" with an "S." and "06" along with the customary Royal Doulton Made in England stamp.
Condition: This figurine is in vintage, excellent condition. There are no blemishes, chips, cracks, or scratches that I could find. The paint has held up beautifully and no paint fading can be seen.
