VintageDeco St Anthony & Christ Child Tryptych Travel Icon Plastic
Offered here is a vintage tryptych featuring St Anthony and the Christ child in the central panel, flanked by two folding doors decorated by two intercedent praying angels with the words "pray for us" underneath. Made of a subtle ivory tone plastic, molded to look like Gothic architecture. Two side panels fold in to become more compact, lightweight and excellent for travel.
It is interesting to note that, although Anthony has been frequently portrayed in art since his death in 1231, images of him with the Christ child did not become popular until the 17th century.
This is a lovely devotional item.
Marked "Pray for us" on the panels, "Made in USA" on the back.
Item is in good conditionwith some light surface scratching to the plastic.
Measures approximately 6 1/2" wide, 5" tall, 1/8" thick. Flanking panels measure 1 3/4" wide, central is 3 1/4" wide.
